A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do!!!

As my advance arrival in Washington extends toward a month,I guess Dave just had to make the most of being alone......so golfing in Bahrain seemed a good choice!

Note the oil well in the background......a unique way to pay for course maintenance!

No Excuse!

I wish I had an earth shattering reason for my lack of blogging recently, and briefly considered making one up, but nothing believable came to mind, except "life"got in the way.....which is a bit lame, but it's the truth.
There will probably be no-one reading this, as my vast (ha,ha) blog audience have given up I hear.....but here goes anyway.

For anyone who is vaguely interested,I'm actually in beautiful Washington, and Dave's still in hot and sandy Saudi.

After a 6 week delay, I have to admit I'll be anxious for him to return to the reality of being a homeowner, with all the responsibilities that go with that.
On arrival 3 weeks ago, I soon discovered my car was officially dead....so that's task number 1 Dave.....fix it!
(He knows too well that lifting the hood of my car is not a skill I plan to learn at this late stage of the marriage game......let alone messing with the battery)
Fortunately his aged vehicle is still "alive"......so I'm mobile....just!!!
Task number 2....the trash disposal seems to have gone on strike,in sympathy with my car I believe ....so another challenge for Dave.
THEN to be absolutely sure he feels needed when he returns, I used a somewhat creative ploy to remind him that his Mr Fixit's skills are in demand.
In great haste to take advantage of a beautiful sunny Bellingham day,I managed to "walk through"the screen door on the way to my porch swing.... (anxiously anticipating some crucial concentrated holiday reading).......knocking the said screen door totally out of the frame, then distorted it beyond recognition as I staggered to stay upright!!!
NO I had not been drinking (come on people it was 2 in the afternoon!) but none-the-less,the screen may be even beyond Dave's ability to rescue.
So with the reality of home maintenance beckoning.........Dave needs to get here.

PS. I miss picking up the phone and simply calling the "maintenance department"......a great perk of expat living.......and they never complain!
